First, check carefully your actuator datasheet and Pluto Servo Drive wiring (LAS13/LAS16/LAS28) or Jupiter Servo Drive wiring (LAS43). If necessary, refer to the appropriate Ingenia Servo Drive Getting Started example guide.

Follow these steps to properly connect your system:

  1. Connect your LAS actuator to the Pluto Servo Drive.
    1. Connect the feedback wires to the I/O connector.
    2. Connect the voice coil phases to the motor connector.
  2. Connect the Pluto Servo Drive to an external 24...28 VDC. power supply
  3. If applicable, wire the IO connector to your external devices.

Refer to the Pluto Servo Drive Manual or Jupiter Servo Drive Manual for more details.

I/O Connector

Pluto has a 16 pin TE Micro-Match connector for general purpose inputs and outputs.

The motor connector is a 4 pin terminal block with 3.5 mm pitch. Molex 0395000004.

Power Supply Connector

Power Supply Selection

Make sure that an appropriate power supply is selected to provide the current demanded by the VCA, otherwise it could generate under voltage faults when trying to set PID values or unexpected system behavior during configuration.

Coil Wiring

The wiring has to be done in a way that when a positive torque command is applied to the actuator, it produces a force on the coil assembly (shaft) in the positive direction (where the position counter increases in value).
